By: Matt Wojas, Web Developer

In the web development world, debate about whether to rely on a framework when approaching responsive design is common.  We don’t usually use a responsive design framework when rolling out a responsive project – opting instead to forge our own code to accomplish the specific goals of the site.  This is mainly because it results in a much lighter code base and we maintain compatibility for IE8, which is not supported by many responsive frameworks.

This article covers some of the considerations one must make when approaching a responsive project, the pros and cons of using frameworks versus going custom, and when one should consider using a framework.
