The Opportunity: A.K.A. New Media Inc. (AKA) is a communications and technology company seeking a highly energetic and organized individual to fill the role of Office Administrator/ Junior Sales Associate. This individual will focus on providing sales and account support for the AKA Broker (www.akabroker.com) business channel (a website design and development solution), as well as helping to support the overall daily operations of this high-paced, medium-sized company in downtown Toronto.

Role: In the role of Office Administrator/Junior Account & Sales Associate, your responsibilities will include:
  • General Office Administration Duties – Answering and directing incoming calls; arranging and scheduling client and executive team meetings; maintaining office space, including supplies, petty cash and systems; managing supplier relationships; ensuring an organized filing system, etc.
  • Account Support – Providing ongoing account support to AKA Broker clients through the website development process primarily via telephone and email.
  • Sales Support – Consists primarily of daily outbound cold calling for the AKA Broker product (approximately 25 outbound calls per day) and remote product demonstrations.
  • Executive Assistant Support – Providing ongoing executive assistance to the executive team.
  • Staff Management Support – Organizing quarterly staff socials; managing and organizing staff vacation requests; preparing and managing staff duty calendars.
  • Human Resource Support – Assisting with drafting job postings; monitoring incoming applicants; new staff basic orientation; recruitment support including pre-screening applicants.
Key Qualifications:
  • Sales and Customer Service Experience (1 year minimum, cold calling experience an asset).
  • Reception/Office Administration Experience (1 year minimum).
  • Technically Savvy – A solid understanding and interest in technology and the Internet, including interactive communications, website design, and social media.
  • Strong command of standard office software (MS Office suite, MS Outlook, Excel, etc…). Experience with CRM systems an asset.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Professional and accurate correspondence for reporting, memos, emails and telephone etiquette.
  • Outgoing, energetic, with strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time/priority management skills, able to manage tasks efficiently and to multi-task.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in the field of business, marketing, communications or technology
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years related experience.
  • Bilingual a major asset.
